Kanken Art is what you get when you invite artists to express their relationship with nature using a Kanken backpack as their canvas. This year, we’re proud to introduce Erik Olovsson and Cecilia Heikkila, two fantastic young creatives, both with their own unique form of expression. Erik’s Summer/Spring Landscape and Cecilia’s Blue/Green Fable are beautiful new members of the Kanken family. These special edition Kankens are also part of the Arctic Fox Initiative.

We are celebrating 50 years since Fjallraven’s first jacket was launched with our special edition Kanken: the Greenland. The Kanken Greenland Backpack is made from durable G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco with patterned details on the handles that match the rest of the Greenland series. Like all Kanken backpacks, it is a hard-wearing, practical everyday backpack that will accompany you wherever you go. This Kanken features a leather logo and is made with recycled polyester and organic cotton. The main compartment with a large zippered opening makes it easy to put in and take out items. The seat pad in G-1000 Eco stops contents from pressing against the back and can be removed for impromptu seating. Features long textile shoulder straps, a front pocket with zipper, two open side pockets, metal buckles, and an address tag in the main compartment. Saturate with Greenland Wax for extra water and wind resistance.

Simple, smaller shoulder bag, designed to carry life’s necessities where ever you are going. Made from strong and durable G-1000 HeavyDuty in functional design where the lid folds down and is fastened in place at the front with textile straps and metal buckles. The main compartment is big enough to fit a map, A4 size documents, an iPad, wallet and other items you cannot be without while travelling or in everyday life. There is a zippered pocket on the outside that is covered by the lid when it is down. Textile handles on the upper edge and adjustable textile shoulder strap. Volume: 6 litres. Impregnation can be enhanced with Greenland Wax, something that also increases durability.

A special edition of Kanken, made entirely from polyester recycled from 11 plastic bottles. Dyed with SpinDye, a technology that radically reduces the amount of water, energy, and chemicals used. An everyday companion with the same genius design as the original, but now reinvented from a recycling perspective that helps save natural resources. Ready to be carried, traveled with, and loved – and in the distant future, recycled again. The main compartment has a large zippered opening that makes it easy to pack and unpack. It comes with a seat pad that is stored in the inside back packet where it cushions the back from its contents – and is always at hand when a pause is needed. There are also two flat side pockets and a zippered pocket on the front, perfect for small items you want to keep close at hand. The carrying system is simple but functional with handles at the top and flexible, adjustable shoulder straps. Also includes an embroidered logo and an address tag inside the main compartment.

Large backpack in classic Fjallraven style, made from a more durable version of our waxed G-1000. Perfect for both everyday use in town or time spent in the forest. The clean lines and functional details in natural tone leather mean that it meets all of the requirements to become a favourite for many years to come. The main compartment is loaded from the top, comes equipped with a snow lock and has an inner pocket with a padded bottom to hold a laptop. It also has a removable seat pad and a pocket that holds a thermos in an upright position, and the light-coloured lining makes it easier to see the contents. The top lid is held in place by straps that attach to metal nubs on the front. One large front pocket and side pockets.

The Raven Mini is a practical, durable, and comfortable kids backpack in durable G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco with recycled polyester and organic cotton. It features comfortable padded shoulder straps, a foam frame sheet, and a handle with leather grips. It’s perfect as a first backpack, both for kindergarten and for exploring the forest. The zippered main compartment has an inside ID label and smaller pockets. Includes a fleece-lined pocket at the top for sunglasses, an easily accessed front pocket, and two side pockets. Reflectors make it extra visible in the darker months of the year.
